Het doel van deze conferentie is om kleine initiatieven te verbinden aan langlopend onderzoek en nieuwe inzichten, ervaringen, inspiratie en netwerken op te doen. Alleen als we meer samenwerken, kunnen we met de idealen van Natuurinclusief Onderwijs (NiO) een schoolsysteem veranderen.

Een grondhouding vanuit een nieuw wereldbeeld

Natuurinclusief Onderwijs is geen extra vak om te verzorgen door leerkrachten en leerplanontwikkelaars, het is een grondhouding vanuit een nieuw wereldbeeld. Net als de bekende vergelijking dat er een dorp nodig is om een kind op te voeden; is er een hele school nodig om kinderen, tieners en jong volwassenen Natuurinclusief Onderwijs te bieden. Een hele school maak je niet vanuit vakinhoud en leerdoelen maar met de hele leergemeenschap als ecosysteem van aandacht en zorg.

Dus daarom deze oproep: neem de mensen om je heen mee die overwegen om ‘iets’ met onderwijs te gaan doen, vanuit passie, zingeving en misschien ook wel: zorgen over het huidig onderwijs. Ontmoet (toekomstige) collega decanen, remedial teachers, conciërges, onderzoekers en actieve leerlingen. Mentoren, architecten, de tuinploeg en het netwerk van actieve ouders. We hebben een hele gemeenschap nodig om de natuur in jouw ideale school tot bloei te brengen!

Programma

Een dag die start met een storm binnenshuis, vervolgd door verschillende korte en smakelijke verhalen die Natuurinclusief Onderwijs relevant maken. Onderwerpen variërend van de relatie tussen natuurbeleving en taal- of rekenlessen voor kinderen, aanpassing van academische studieprogramma’s in de sociale wetenschappen en consequenties voor biotechnologie zullen ter sprake komen. Later zal een gevarieerde carrousel van actieve sessies met een gemengde doelgroep ruimte geven om o.a. te verkennen hoe Natuurinclusief Onderwijs (NiO) in de gebouwen en buitenruimte op de campus van Wageningen kan worden verweven. Aan het einde van de dag zullen we samen met de nieuwe ontmoetingen de nieuw verkregen lessen, ervaringen en inspiraties oogsten en bespreken. Aangesterkt naar huis met een gezamenlijke agenda voor een nieuw jaar More Nature Deeper Education.

We proudly announce the third edition of the More Nature Deeper Education Conference on Tuesday April 8th at Wageningen University Campus. With new partners and an extended program with lots of opportunity to experience nature inclusive education, both inside and outdoors – and meet the growing network of educators and the like.

This year, the theme is ‘it takes a whole school!’. Nature inclusive education is not an add-on or extra time investment for educators and curriculum developers. It takes a village to raise a child and a whole school to educate teenagers and young adults. So, bring in your colleague deans, remedial teachers, janitors, schedule writers, mentors, architects and gardenistas and network of active parents. We need a whole community to include a whole school!

Programme

The symposium will start with the creation of a storm. Be ready to invite natural forces inside a classroom! Arita Baaijens will fill the silence with a few words on the theme of the day. In order to reach a whole school, we need a whole ecosystem to inspire a nature-inclusive way of thinking and teaching. Several short and appetitive stories will follow of recent experiences applying nature inclusive teaching in diverse classroom settings, making it relevant in subject matters ranging from language or math classes for children, to academic study programs in the social science or even biotechnology. There will be a moment to digest all this over some snacks and drinks. Fuel to give us energy for the rest of the morning, when we will hear about new developments in the Nature inclusive science field and share our own experiences with Nature inclusive Education. Then, lunch!

Lunch is a great time to go outside. You will receive a train ticket for an immersive journey through time, and will be able to sign up for a diverse carousel of active sessions with a mixed target group, to explore and work towards a whole school with nature inclusive education. At the end of the afternoon, when we arrive at our final destination, we will share the lessons, experiences and inspiration we have gained during the day, and look forwards to another year of bringing More Nature, Deeper Education.

Our goal is to offer everyone new insights, experiences, inspiration and connections to implement Nature inclusive Education through the whole school, throughout the whole country!
